1. After the Civil Code was enacted, DR held training for all business staff. Bian Keke was running late that day, and when she slipped through the back door of the training room, every seat in the back was already taken. She silently mouthed to a colleague from across the room, asking if they hadn't promised to save her a seat. Just then, the instructor on stage adjusted the microphone in front of him and raised his voice. "Does anyone in the back have any questions about what I've just explained?"
The people in the back, most of whom had been dozing off, jolted awake and hurriedly shook their heads. The instructor's gaze swept across the room before landing on Bian Keke, who was still standing. The invisible pressure made her instinctively shake her head along with her colleagues.
"Good." He nodded in satisfaction, tilted his chin toward an empty seat at the very front of the room, and said to Bian Keke, "Then, miss, don't just stand there. Please take a seat."

2. Bian Keke argued with the general manager of the legal department over an agreement to terminate a lease involving collateral. The general manager laid down the law: "If you can't handle the client, either they leave or you do!"

3. Bian Keke had to make an unexpected trip out of the office. As she was driving up the slope in the company garage, a big G came downhill, barreling along without the slightest intention of yielding. To make matters worse, the driver flashed his headlights at her.
Bian Keke knew what to do and backed up to let him pass. When the other driver didn't move, she rolled down her window and leaned out to take a look. He rolled down his window too and leaned out, lowering his sunglasses to reveal his eyes.
When Bian Keke recognized him, she rolled her eyes so hard they nearly reached the ceiling and blurted out, "How old are you?" (How come it's always you?)
Shi Qian froze, confused. Were young people these days really so forward? Running up and asking someone of the opposite sex how old they were?
4. After they got together.
Bian Keke: "Lawyer Shi, don't you think the way you speak when you're completely focused is kind of..."
Shi Qian: "Handsome?"
Bian Keke shook her head and finished what she was saying. "When you talk, it's all blah blah blah, one thing after another. You sound just like a zebra's head, talking as if you know everything."
