[Harry Potter] The Wolfstar and the White Stag

Sirius: My name is that of a star in the sky. I'm the fourth person to bear this name, which means I come from a dark and rotten family.

Pujie: My name means “favored daughter of heaven,” so our names go quite well together. Maybe we're made for each other.

They were so young back then that neither of them took those words seriously. Later, they grew up. James started chasing Lily around every day, Sirius received love letters from plenty of girls, and Pujie had a few admirers of her own, though she didn't seem to like any of them.

James, whose own love life was going nowhere, worried about his only female friend. What kind of person could ever win her over?

Sirius thought of Pujie's wild eyes and grinned at his best friend. “Obviously someone like me!”

Once they had grown into teenagers, Sirius never imagined that anyone but Pujie could be his future partner. She was straightforward and decisive, famous for getting even with anyone who wronged her, and no one dared mess with her. Sirius thought she was born to stand by his side.

Pujie realized that whenever a boy who liked her caught her eye, she instinctively compared him to Sirius. Since no one in her heart could measure up to Sirius, why not just settle on him?

Sirius, after hearing how Pujie had come to feel that way: “So that's why you kissed me by force under the mistletoe back then?”
