Tenderly Coveting You [Entertainment Industry]

[The male lead starts off refined, then turns into a scoundrel. Sweet on the outside, dark within. He has been plotting this for a long time.]

Award-winning screenwriter Bei Yue was devastated to discover that her inspiration had run dry.

Her best friend came up with a terrible idea: she should post online looking for a "contract boyfriend":

Only date online, never meet in person, be available whenever she called, and end things at any time.

Netizens piled on with jokes, and the thread veered further and further off course.

To her surprise, someone actually answered the call.

She said, "I'm a no-name screenwriter."

He said, "What a coincidence. I'm an actor who's nowhere near even the eighteenth tier."

Separated by a screen, they chatted about industry secrets and their dreams for the future.

After drawing inspiration from him and finishing her script, Bei Yue promptly blocked him.

That is, until the script-reading for her new drama

The already-cast male lead, rising star He Cheng, held the script and smiled faintly.

"Teacher Bei, I don't quite understand the heroine's thought process when she 'uses and abandons' the hero. I hope you'll enlighten me in private."

Bei Yue: "..."

That night, he sent her a message: "Hah. A no-name screenwriter?"

Bei Yue felt guilty, but refused to back down: "Hmph. An actor nowhere near the eighteenth tier?"

Later, at the wrap party.

Someone asked drunkenly, "Brother Cheng, why did you take this role?"

He Cheng smiled faintly. "To pursue someone."

The whole room erupted, and only Bei Yue's ears turned bright red.

Everyone in the industry mocked Bei Yue, saying her talent had run dry.

But He Cheng knew all too well just how gifted she was.

From their school days to the set, he had quietly followed her for years.

He had meant to wait for the right moment, then win her over, step by step.

Until that contract-boyfriend post landed right on the homepage of his alt account.
