[Prince of Tennis] Maple of Rikkai

In his second year of high school, Yanagi Renji stood among the spectators at the National Tournament finals, watching alongside his former middle school teammates as the junior they'd once thought so naive and inexperienced lifted that heavy trophy. He was immensely relieved and proud. Relieved that two years earlier, he'd gone to the basketball club and reclaimed this junior for the tennis team. Proud that they'd taught him everything, guiding him from a clueless boy into someone who could handle every situation. Nishikawa Kaede had never let them down. - Two years earlier, after they had stood on the awards podium and lifted the same trophy, a symbol of immense glory, the Tennis Weekly had written this about the junior, who was then only a first-year middle school student: "We look forward to and wish this promising first-year regular at Rikkai Dai the best, hoping he will maintain the school's champion status just like the upperclassmen who came before him." - Two years later, holding the three trophies he'd earned with his own sweat, he announced to the middle school tennis world: "Nishikawa Kaede has maintained Rikkai Dai's champion status." * Rikkai Dai's three consecutive championships are absolutely flawless. * He's the author's favorite, and he's been given a major power-up. Theme: Strive and fight hard.
