A Joyous Wedding for the Disabled Tyrant

“I heard that the ‘eldest daughter’ from the Minister of Revenue's household, who was raised in the countryside for over a decade, is back.”

“The eldest daughter? Isn't she supposed to bring good luck to a cripple by marrying him?”

A Shu spent fifteen years in the countryside. Then, suddenly given the title of the Minister of Revenue's daughter, she was married to the legendary Shen Yubai.

She'd heard that Shen Yubai was much older than her, had crippled legs, and was a violent-tempered man.

Although he had the title of general, the emperor had taken away his military authority, and every noble family's daughter avoided him like the plague.

After Shen Yubai entered the room, A Shu, who had been forced into the bridal chamber, prepared herself for the worst.

But Shen Yubai said, “Behave yourself from now on, and I'll make sure you have somewhere to go.”

A Shu nodded at once. Behaving herself was what she did best. She ate little and worked hard, fattening up the head of the household like a country pig until he was plump and rosy.

From that day on, Shen Yubai watched the little woman bustle about, carefully finding new ways to feed him every day, and fell into a quandary: Is she secretly in love with me?

Years later, A Shu expressionlessly nudged the man clinging to her side. “Didn't you say you'd make sure I had somewhere good to go?”

Shen Yubai clutched his chest and shamelessly replied, “Everything under heaven is yours, including me.”
