Killer Chronicles: Traces in the Blue Sky

And so, the queen laid a curse.

To the first assassin, she said, "Your killing is like the wind, scattering petals without a trace. May your fate be the same: wither just as you bloom."

To the second assassin, she said, "Your killing is like the moon, its darkness unseen behind its radiance. May your fate be the same: may your shadow consume you."

To the third assassin, she said, "Your killing is like snow, cold and merciless. May your fate be the same: may your lost heart never return."

To the fourth assassin, she said, "Your killing is like a flower, its splendid beauty concealing thorns. May your fate be the same: may no one dare reach out and touch you."

At last, the queen turned to the assassins' leader. "And you, you are a free bird. May you be free forever, and possess nothing but freedom."

When the queen had spoken, she fell into a sleep as long as death, and the world she once ruled was buried with her.

The five assassins looked around in bewilderment. They saw the withered sky and earth, and one by one, they understood.

They had committed the crime of deicide. The demigod queen had paved the road their fates would follow.
