My Cup of Tea

A transfer student arrived at No. 1 High School. Since she looked just like Hong Kong star Chingmy Yau, people nicknamed her "Little Zhao of No. 1 High."

Huo Zhenli hadn't paid her much attention.

That changed one morning during the flag-raising ceremony. He had just won a gold medal at the International Physics Olympiad and was invited to give a speech on the platform. Standing off to one side was "Little Zhao," who had been caught by the dean for altering her uniform and was being made to stand as punishment.

He read his speech absentmindedly from the page, but out of the corner of his eye he caught her bouncing her leg. When she finished with her left leg, she switched to her right. She bounced her legs for the full five minutes of his speech.

"Little Zhao's" skirt was three inches shorter than the other students' skirts, and her long, straight, fair legs were impossible to miss.

During those five minutes, her leg-bouncing left Huo Zhenli seeing stars. He stepped down from the platform and had completely forgotten what he'd just said. All he could remember was the pair of dazzlingly white legs before him.
