He Zhiyu considers himself an easygoing, dull-witted goofball. After starting high school, all he wants is to get through three peaceful years and then attend a decent university. But his modest plans never accounted for being in the same class and sitting at the same desk as He Chu. The two boys, who were supposedly brothers in a past life, somehow became like this after becoming deskmates:
He Chu: “I want to get a cat someday.”
He Zhiyu: “You're really going to get a cat? Some of them are pretty cute, sure, but I think they're terrifying. I got scratched by a cat when I was little, and ever since then, blablabla... Anyway, if you like them, go ahead and get one.”
He Chu looked at He Zhiyu warmly and said, “Maybe I'll get a dog instead.”
