On Blue Star, on Children's Day, Jin An'an rescued a black cat in the mountains and named it Liuyi. From then on:
“Liuyi, give me a hug?”
The little black cat half-closed its eyes and cast her a cool glance. Hmph, what a boring human!
“Liuyi, give me a hug and we can watch the financial news. This episode is about getting rich by raising pigs!”
A small black figure immediately leaped into her arms, then gazed intently at the LCD screen, eyes brimming with a thirst for “knowledge.”
“Liuyi, there's a new flavor of cat food today! This one's steak flavored, and it's more nutritious!”
The little black cat kept its head down and didn't respond.
A good while later: “Ah, you little rascal, Liuyi! You stole my beef pizza again. It's black pepper flavored and loaded with oil and salt. You can't eat it!”
In the dead of night, in the quiet room, Liuyi jumped onto the pink bed. It awkwardly used its paws to tuck the blanket around its human, then bent down and gently licked her red lips, murmuring, “Wait obediently for me to come back. Don't go flirting with any other kitties.”
N years later, in the Demon Palace:
“Demon King, also known as Liuyi, whose real name is Mo Chiyi, where did you take our son?”
“To fight in the Demon King arena!”
“Did a heavenly bolt of lightning fry your brain? Our son is still a little kitten who hasn't even taken human form. How the hell is he supposed to fight in an arena?” That unreliable man! Luckily, Dad and Papa caught him, or their son might have lost one of his nine lives early.
“An'an, you're getting worked up again. You haven't petted my true form in ages. How about we play with my fluffy fur?” As he spoke, the tall man scooped up his wife and rushed toward the bedroom. Petting a cat, or petting fur?

Theme: Companionship is the longest-lasting confession of love.
Ah, don't allow the little kitten to say this. Is that what you can see? You must abide by your morals.
Why are there inexplicable feelings? Is there any past?
