Sleeping Through Summer

The flowers they loved stubbornly bloomed in late spring and early summer, season after season, then fell to the ground in late autumn and early winter. Their deaths brought forth a tender, aching beauty, filled with sorrow yet free of resentment. Buried beneath the earth, the spirits of the flowers endured winter's cruel chill and would once again break free from death's grasp. Raise your eyes, and beneath the vast sky, late spring and early summer would bring another glorious season of blooms.
