A Manual for Rebuilding a Desolate City

Qi Mingyi stood before the city gates. Before him lay crumbling ruins. All around him stretched a boundless desert, and great clumps of tumbleweed blew over and hit his legs. This was his city. After saving a world at the behest of the Savior System, Qi Mingyi finally got what he wanted: freedom from the System and the city it had promised him. But... There wasn't even an ant in this ghost town. System, are you messing with me?! Fortunately, he had a special NPC-summoning skill. He turned the abandoned city into a game, and countless players poured in. Qi Mingyi sipped the grape wine the players "offered" him as he watched them work tirelessly, transforming the desert into an oasis and the ruins into skyscrapers, one step at a time. The desolate scenery faded into history. Now, a bustling city at night stretched before him, while Xuan Chu, his NPC butler, stood faithfully at his side, attentive and considerate. Now this was the life of a city lord he'd imagined. We asked the players: What do you think of the game "Desolate City"? Player A: It's the best, most generous game I've ever played! Player B: The production quality is incredible! I just keep worrying the game company will go under. Player C: I've never seen such a realistic game! The City Lord is so charismatic! Too bad we hardly ever get to see him. Player D: This game is incredibly generous. It's so satisfying to watch Desolate City grow more prosperous step by step. We asked the City Lord: What do you think of the players? Qi Mingyi: They're pretty good. Hardworking and tireless... No, I mean, they're very creative and proactive. We asked the City Lord: If you had to compare the players to a plant, what would you choose? Qi Mingyi: Obviously, chives... No, I mean, they're like grass: resilient and tenacious. Yes, that's it.
