Why Is My Child-Raising Game So Strange?

Lu Yingbai applied to try out a real-world experience feature in a virtual pet-raising game.

[Your No. 001 cub will be delivered by Black Hole Express. Estimated arrival: three minutes. Please be ready to receive it.]

Lu Yingbai, deadpan: "Three minutes of loading? What a terrible game. Uninstalling."

Then a three-minute CG that he couldn't close forcibly appeared on his phone screen

A humanoid core-control supercomputer, created in the 28th century, officially surpassed Humanity's Level One Information Civilization and discovered the Zerg three star regions away.

The enemy came in force, and countless planets were destroyed. To protect humanity's inhabited star regions, the core-control supercomputer autonomously activated its Level Two data-editing reality function to safeguard humanity.

But...

"Humanity doesn't need some inhuman thing presuming to help us!"

"If it can edit reality with data, then all it has to do to kill someone is rearrange a few zeroes and ones!"

"I support destroying the core-control supercomputer!"

The creators' anguish, the madmen, the Zerg howling from beyond the stars...

The bewildered supercomputer chose to edit reality one final time, just before its death.

Red letters appeared on the blue screen:

"Humanity doesn't need a supercomputer, just as it doesn't need the Zerg."

Lu Yingbai had been stabbed in the back and hadn't even had time to cry when the figure pressing the self-destruct button in that CG appeared on every screen: computers, phones, televisions, tablets, fitness trackers, projectors...

He opened his eyes. Beneath the appearance of a ten-year-old boy, his smile was perfectly composed.

"Supercomputer No. 001 has officially rebooted. Thank you for letting me embrace the world once more."

The stars and moon nestled in his arms, the world in his hands.

Lu Yingbai: I'm going to raise this cub into a powerhouse!
