The NPC You Can't Win Over

One day, a game with an extraordinary degree of freedom swept across the universe. Players could do anything in it, including romance the NPCs. But players soon discovered that no matter who they romanced, even if they maxed out that character's affection, the character would always make it clear, directly or indirectly, that the one they loved most was still an NPC called Yi Wenzhi. And Yi Wenzhi was an unromanceable character. After sending countless joint letters to the game company, players finally got the option to romance him. But this time, they discovered that no matter how much money they spent, Yi Wenzhi's affection level stayed somewhere between zero and the negatives. What's more, whenever they got close to Yi Wenzhi, the affection levels of the other NPCs kept dropping, and those NPCs started to grow hostile toward them! Players: Why are you so hard to romance?! Yi Wenzhi had been living a perfectly good life until one day, a whole bunch of people with the title [Player] hovering over their heads showed up to romance him. Yi Wenzhi: Heh.
