In my headcanon, Fuji moved to Kanagawa as soon as he graduated from elementary school. He spent all three years of middle school at Rikkai University Affiliated Middle School, playing tennis under Captain Yukimura.
The story starts in their first year of middle school. Remember, when they first started, they were still kids, not yet as elegant and composed as they were in their third year. So this is probably a story about "the stubborn, domineering, somewhat chuunibyou and earnest Yukimura, and Fuji, who just wants to tease the person he likes but is also gentle and a little sentimental, gradually learning to get along until, by their third year, they become a pair of great demons who never show their emotions."
As always, there are lots of headcanons and major changes. I've only kept the original's broad setting and main framework. Yukimura and Fuji are both given power-ups, especially Fuji, who gets a huge one. The characters may be OOC.

Fuji is really a soft and gentle person. I think his so-called sinister character is really not as important as his gentle character. It can at best be regarded as a little evil taste of a genius. But what attracts us is actually his gentleness and insouciance. Should the dark side be an addition to make him more cute?
