I Can See Pheromones

Primarily first-person, written in diary form. Please don't read if that's not your thing.

For the six months leading up to her differentiation, Yan Mi reported to the Differentiation Assessment Center every month.

Eventually, even the doctor, who spent every day slacking off at the center, couldn't help offering her some advice. "Testing is very advanced these days. You've been tested ten times already, and your latest results show a 99% chance you'll differentiate as a beta."

Yan Mi: "Really? I don't believe it. I can't relax until I actually differentiate."

Just as she wished, although her differentiation came with a minor complication, she really was a beta.

But her good fortune didn't last. When Yan Mi opened the training room door, the mixed scents hit her like a toppled paint palette, and she could barely stand it.

No way, no way. Is it really possible for someone to see pheromones? Wasn't the whole reason I wanted so badly to differentiate as a beta that I wouldn't have to understand your complicated AO relationships?
