Ye Luoqing's parents named her Ye Luoqing, combining Ye Yucheng and Luo Mingshu in the hope that they would love each other forever, and as a name for their most precious darling. Much later, Ye Luoqing discovered that her name was a cruel joke, with every character dripping with irony.
Shen Chengfeng's grandfather named him Shen Chengfeng, after the line, "Ride the wind, soar through the vast sky, and look down upon the rivers and mountains." He hoped Shen Chengfeng would see and protect the beautiful land of his country. When Shen Chengfeng grew up, he did just that, though he nearly lost his life in the process.
Jiang Xun's father named him Jiang Xun, hoping he would keep exploring throughout his life and always remain curious about the world. Jiang Xun doesn't know if he managed that. He only knows that in the end, he lost the star and the girl he loved.
Jiang Yishi gave herself her own name: Jiang from Jiang Xun, and Yishi from the phrase for lost memories. She is someone who should never have existed, yet she is the happiest person in the world. But in the end, her lost memories return, and she disappears.
