Synopsis:
Back then, everyone thought Wen Yang would marry into a wealthy family and become Mrs. Shi. No one expected the two of them to break up overnight. Wen Yang left with nothing but the clothes on her back and moved abroad, ignoring Shi Xu's pleas for her to stay. She left without a backward glance.
Shi Xu hated her coldness.
He thought that after Wen Yang returned home, she would soften. He thought that after all those years together, or perhaps out of respect for their elders, she would at least look at him.
Even just one glance would have been enough.
But she didn't.
Then one day, Wen Yang was about to leave. Shi Xu blocked her path, gripping her delicate chin and forcing her to look at him. His eyes reddened as he gritted his teeth. “Yangyang, look at me... Just look at me!”
Wen Yang really did look at him, frowning as she drew a breath. “That hurts.”
Shi Xu's eyes instantly grew damp, and he let go.
When they met again, she stood beside his younger cousin in a long dress, smiling and chatting. She looked at him politely but with distance, greeting him, “Hello, Second Brother.” Then she fell silent.
After greeting him, the two of them walked away together. He didn't know what his cousin said to her, but the woman suddenly turned her head and laughed softly. Her earrings swayed with her movements. Her smile was radiant and dazzling, so bright that the diamonds on her earrings seemed to lose their shine.
The long dress outlined her figure, as graceful as ever.
Only that radiant smile no longer belonged to him alone.
Shi Xu once thought time could truly wash everything away. But when he saw the person he had longed for again, he finally understood:
Some people can never be forgotten, no matter how much time passes. Just one word from her is enough to leave him utterly defeated.
Some goals can only be achieved by any means necessary.
