Schemes in Chang'an

The old dynasty has fallen, and the land is in chaos. Ambitious warlords rise on every side. The reclusive Guishanzi is peerless in wisdom and courage. He founded a school and took disciples from across the land. All four kingdoms consider it an honor to have one of his disciples serve at court. At ten, Zhu Chang'an was separated from her family amid the turmoil of war and lost all memories of her past. Luckily, her senior fellow disciple rescued her from the ruins and brought her back to Mount Gui, where she became a disciple of Guishanzi. Five years after her senior fellow disciple descended the mountain, Zhu Chang'an followed in his footsteps. She bade farewell to her school as its top disciple, entering the world with grand ambitions and dazzling everyone she met. According to rumors, she would go on to assist the emperor, Guan Pei. At seventeen, he created a mass grave. At twenty, he murdered his father and took the throne. At twenty-three, he killed his own younger brother. He was erratic and bloodthirsty, believing in neither gods nor Buddhas and fearing no judgment from history. Even in this chaotic age, he was a rare breed of tyrant. At their first audience, the tyrant had just finished sword practice. In the middle of his busy schedule, he spared her a moment and brushed her off. "That's it?" Zhu Chang'an couldn't let the insult go. She stayed up all night writing her Memorial to the Emperor, angrily listing more than ten problems plaguing their country. The next day, Zhu Chang'an received an imperial decree: the tyrant was sending her to the frontier to oversee the army and supervise construction of the Great Wall. - Three years later, with frequent fighting along the frontier, Guan Pei personally led an expedition. Amid the admiring, respectful gazes of the soldiers, he encountered Military Strategist Zhu, beloved by the troops and revered as a living goddess. The tyrant's eyes lit up. "Well, well." Zhu Chang'an raised her fan to hide her face and smiled darkly at him, waiting for the tyrant to regret his decision and send an eight-person sedan chair to beg her to return and take charge at court. Tyrant: "What a beautiful fan." A goofy, sweet, naive (maybe?) straight tyrant x a brilliant, loyal, righteous and courageous female strategist ·Working title· Set in a chaotic age, with unconventional political intrigue and an ensemble cast.
