Yang Zi was a college classmate of mine, an utterly ordinary girl. Her life had none of the youthful romance of a TV drama, nor any particularly dramatic stories. In fact, her stories were so ordinary that we may all have lived through something like them, only to forget for a while. Yet it was this very ordinary girl from the countryside who made me realize that every life is unique. Of all the years we have lived through, some things have been forgotten and others remembered, but those experiences are what made us who we are today. They also reminded me of the dreams I had when I was young. So after hearing her ramble on about her little stories, I couldn't wait to turn them into words, to remember the way she looked as she recalled them, and to remember my own youth.
Theme: We often envy the leading men and women on television, and we envy the lives of people around us, too. But our own lives are unique as well, and perhaps someone else envies them. Our past experiences made us who we are today. Be true to yourself and stay kind.
