If you plan everything and sever every tie, will you finally be able to sleep in peace?

Of course not, especially after a troublesome kid latches onto you.

Tsushima Shuji: "...Ah, that kid? You can have them. Fry them, braise them, or deep-fry them, I don't care."

Main World, World Consciousness: "No, no, no! How could we treat Mr. Dazai's child like that? Our humble home is too poorly furnished, and the food and lodging are so bad we're afraid the child will grow up badly, so please take them back soon! (Actually, we can't beat you!)"

Main World, Book: "Mom! Can somebody take it away?"

IF World, Book: "Mom..." (Tsushima glances over.) "...Ahem!"

IF World, World Consciousness: "Taking them back is impossible, but we might be able to lend you Mr. Tsushima to help send the troublesome kid home."

Main World, Mr. Ranpo: "I know what you're trying to do. Since you've been so good, I'll help you. But my fee is..."

IF World, Mr. Ranpo: "No way! Anyone who dares take our Dazai away, I... I... I'll never speak to you again!" (to Tsushima Shuji) (Furiously bristling cat.jpg)

Tsushima Shuji: "?! What does this have to do with me?! Mr. Ranpo, we don't even know each other, do we?!"

This is a story about taking a lost child home.

Forget the plot. This story will probably be out of character.

I'm only writing it because I want to.

I'm always trying not to stray from canon.
