Please, First Emperor, Take Me to Immortality

[Lovecraftian cultivation, partially fictional setting, entirely my own worldbuilding] Modern scientific cultivation has techniques but no true path. Jing You has cultivated all the way to the Great Ascension realm and has nowhere left to go, so she can only look back longingly to the Warring States and pre-Qin era. They say that back then, the Hundred Schools of Thought supported the royal families of the various states, debating and discussing the Dao every day. Powerful cultivators emerged from every school, and the First Emperor unified all under heaven, put the Great Dao into practice across the land, and truly ascended to immortality. Sadly, his descendants let him down. Not only did Xiang Yu destroy the tradition of the Dao, he also burned Xianyang to the ground, reducing the traditions of every school to ashes. As a result, cultivation today has no foundation. To make a clean break with the past, Jing You gritted her teeth and sacrificed almost all her immortal power to travel through time and return to the Warring States period. She had a plan: she didn't need to do anything else, just stick with the First Emperor and ask him to help her ascend to immortality! However, her arrival changed the course of time. Deceived by Xu Fu and the other Confucian scholars, Ying Zheng had sought immortality in vain and sworn with his dying breath never to believe in the existence of immortals again. Now he opened his eyes to find himself back at six years old, surrounded by people who were all cultivating. In this age of contention among the Hundred Schools and gathering of great heroes, it was ultimately he who would unify the laws, establish the standards, and set the Great Dao in order. Theme: Pursue truth, goodness, and beauty.
