Ouroboros. Plato described the Ouroboros as the primordial cosmic creature devouring itself. It is immortal and possesses a perfect biological structure.

The first day should determine the last, just as a snake's tail should return to its own mouth.

1. The pairing should be Tom Riddle and Severus Snape. Master and servant refers to their social relationship, please be aware.

2. Harry Potter is not a good person, and is severely out of character. In this story, Voldemort went to Harry's house as part of a calculated plan. The soul fragment in Harry's scar merged with Harry's remnant soul, completing one of the Horcruxes. So Harry is Tom Riddle.

3. To explain the title, Severus's Animagus form is an Ouroboros. The turning point of the story is the life-and-death pact between the Dark Lord and Severus, an alchemical formation also known as Ouroboros. It's a double meaning.

4. The original draft was first written in 2015, and a synopsis and several chapters were published. This is a heavily revised repost. Any similarities are purely coincidental.

5. I have a terrible track record for finishing stories. The thing I do best is go quiet and leave readers hanging.
