The Superstar and His Ordinary Assistant

The Song and Lu families were famous wealthy clans in Hong Kong City. The two families had agreed on a business marriage, but the Song family's beloved daughter ran away from her wedding. To ensure the alliance went through, Song's father adopted a poor relative from the clan to take her place.

A year after getting engaged to Lu Tingxiao, just before their wedding, his first love returned. Song Yao had always known she was a substitute, so when the real deal came back, she quickly handed over the position of heiress.

The reborn Miss Song hated Song Yao for taking her parents' love, her fiance, and the position of the CEO's wife. It had all belonged to her in the first place. Song Yao understood that she was an outsider. From the moment her parents gave her up for adoption to the Song family, she had known she could be discarded at any time.

After leaving the Song family, Song Yao had no one to rely on, but she supported herself with her intelligence and hard work. When Lu Tingxiao saw how capable she had become again, he thought countless times about how she had almost married him.

The superstar Chu Yueze was extremely picky, but at last he found a personal assistant who suited him perfectly. When they appeared on a variety show, fans came for Chu Yueze's looks and ended up falling for his assistant instead.

Lu Tingxiao regretted it. She had been his wife.

A looks-obsessed, germophobic, compulsive superstar VS a beautiful, easygoing, ordinary personal assistant

The ex pursues his wife to the crematorium! The kind where they scatter the ashes, so read with caution. If you get along, stay together; if not, go your separate ways.

The full story is complete and will be published after polishing. [@Chess Duck]

The story is told in both third person and first person. They're the same story, so read whichever version you prefer.

This is a short story I wrote, about thirty thousand Chinese characters in total.

It's a free short story. I've already given myself a serious talking-to, so let me put up the warning flags first. Please give it a read!

[Important]

My own assessment of this story: Looking back at it as a whole, the characters lack tension, there are few character conflicts, and some characters are rather stiff. There are few plot events. The plot moves forward passively, the characters are passive, and there is too little pressure from the events. Most of the characters' backstories could be cut.

I didn't come to this self-reflection on my own, but after receiving feedback. Now that I've finished it and looked back, I can see its shortcomings. It can't really be considered a novel; it's more like a little story written to satisfy myself.

I hope I can bring you a better story next time.
