How to Save Your Own Hide on a Guaranteed-Death Plotline

My name is Dazai, and I am the Beast-timeline boss known for making people cry. After successfully saving my "best friend's" life and entrusting the future of this world to the promising new Double Black, I happily stand atop the Port Mafia building, ready to jump. Then... "Dazai!!!" I stare blankly at Oda, who has appeared out of nowhere and jumped down after me, not forgetting to grab hold of me as he does. He's the version of Oda from the main world, my one true love. Oda, why did you jump down after me?! Theme: No matter how hopeless things seem, someone will hold your hand and never let go.
