[This novel underwent major revisions after completion, so it differs greatly from pirated versions.]
[This was my first novel. It was originally supposed to be a farming story, but I turned it into a romance. There are a few differences from what I first planned.]
Liu Qiyu transmigrates into a farming novel as the vicious supporting female character:
Beautiful and sharp-tongued, she loves vanity.
After repeatedly plotting against the heroine only to have it blow up in her face, she becomes a laughingstock to the whole village. Her ending is tragic: she starves to death.
After waking up, Liu Qiyu stares at the nearly empty rice jar at home, fretting over what to do, when the System tells her:
[As long as you keep playing the vicious supporting female character and ensure the plot develops as it should, your family's crops will have a bumper harvest.]
Liu Qiyu: ...! How hard can that be? I've been sick of that hypocritical heroine for ages!
Three months later, the villagers who had always ostracized Liu Qiyu don't see her getting face-slapped by the heroine and weeping in despair.
Instead, they are stunned to discover that the barren land around the Liu home, where not a blade of grass could grow, has turned into vast stretches of fertile fields.
One by one, including the original heroine, they come begging Liu Qiyu to give them grain.
Liu Qiyu looks down her nose at them, hands on her hips, and thinks: I've decided to cut production!
[Blurb Two]
Su Yan, heir to the Marquis's estate, is refined and elegant. Exiled to a remote backwater to serve as an official, on his very first day in office he hears a villager say:
The most beautiful woman in the village is Liu Qiyu. She's delicate and alluring.
Su Yan thinks nothing of it.
What renowned young ladies has he not seen in the capital? Why would he take a fancy to some country girl?
Yet later, Su Yan climbs over the east wall night after night to meet the village girl, shamelessly calling her "sweetheart."
Everyone in the capital knows:
When Su Yan of the Marquis's estate was exiled to a remote backwater, he fell in love with a country girl. The girl was more beautiful than Xi Shi, and somehow persuaded the heir to marry her.
[Flirtatious, bewitching village girl x graceful, refined nobleman]
Setup:
1. Sweet and satisfying, one-on-one romance.
2. Neither lead is perfect; both have their flaws.
3. The System plays a small role in this novel. It only appears later and doesn't take up much of the story.
4. Farming fiction isn't just about farming. Everyday life, common people's lives, and family matters all count as farming fiction.
Theme: Strive tirelessly, love life, and live in harmony with nature while farming.
