Beneath the Starlight

Blurb:

[ Xia Yuwen ]

Xia Yuwen is an emergency room doctor at a public hospital.

Thirty is an awkward age.

Without a boyfriend, she gets saddled with the title of "leftover woman."

Xia Yuwen thinks, I'm clearly a seasoned young woman. How could I be a leftover woman?

Besides, it's not that she doesn't want to date. She just hasn't met the right person.

That is, until she meets Song Yixiu!

Before meeting Song Yixiu,

Xia Yuwen thought men were an especially troublesome species,

and male celebrities even more so.

After meeting Song Yixiu,

Xia Yuwen became even more certain of her opinion.

This sweet little puppy is such a handful.

He always interrupts her while she's working,

and makes excuses to cling to her every day, buzzing in her ear like a little bee.

[ Song Yixiu ]

Twenty-two, the age when most people have only just entered the working world,

but Song Yixiu is already a famous multi-talented entertainer in China,

working as a motorcycle racer, host, and actor.

He never expected to meet Xia Yuwen, a paper tiger:

A seasoned young woman who seems calm, composed, and rigid on the outside, but panics at the slightest trouble.

This blunt doctor, Xia Yuwen, has a cute side, too.

Song Yixiu finds himself wanting to spend the rest of his life with her,

so he launches an intense pursuit.

[Little Scene]

"I've got some good news for everyone. I have a girlfriend. She's not in the entertainment industry, and she's a doctor."

The reporters erupted. Song Yixiu had just landed some great opportunities, and now he was publicly admitting to having a girlfriend. It was practically career suicide.

Just as everyone thought Song Yixiu would disappear from the public eye for a while,

his fans praised him for taking responsibility.

And since Xia Yuwen was well-liked by audiences, Song Yixiu's fans gradually accepted her, too.

Xia Yuwen asked him, "Why would you do that?"

Song Yixiu backed her step by step against the door. As his kiss slowly fell on her lips,

Xia Yuwen realized that he had planned it all.

"You wanted to feel secure, so I'm giving you that. Now everyone knows I have a girlfriend, and some people will keep their distance from me. So don't run away from the fact that I love you."
