After watching Jujutsu Kaisen, I just couldn't accept Junpei's ending, so I decided to write a story where he gets reborn.
Junpei Yoshino died at the hands of Mahito, the person he revered as his life mentor.
He'd always thought of the people who bullied and humiliated him as fools, yet he foolishly chose to regard Mahito, who claimed he would avenge him, as his life mentor and confidant.
But he forgot that a Special Grade Cursed Spirit wouldn't care about a human's life or thoughts. The truth had been right in front of him. He'd seen Mahito kill someone from the very beginning. And still, he hopelessly ignored it, hopelessly deceiving himself.
"Junpei really is the biggest fool of them all," the Special Grade Cursed Spirit said of him.
Yes, the biggest fool of them all. So foolish that he saw a murderer as his life mentor, so foolish that he got his own mother killed, so foolish that he couldn't even die as a human.
He really was beyond saving.
Perhaps the gods took pity on him. Junpei Yoshino died, but then he came back to life.
Reborn as a human, one year in the past.
