Sudden Caninization Syndrome in an Alpha

Wen Mu transmigrates into an ABO danmei novel as a minor character, serving as the stand-in for the domineering CEO's one true love.

The Alpha has a dark, moody gaze, is unpredictable, and can't stand him. Wen Mu prepares himself to be tormented and mistreated.

But...

When Wen Mu isn't home at night, Pei Shuchen hugs his clothes as he sleeps.

When Wen Mu goes out to buy groceries, Pei Shuchen sits by the door, eyes red, waiting for him with desperate longing.

When Wen Mu accidentally picks up the scent of another Alpha, Pei Shuchen gives him a heartbroken look that says, "You've got someone else now."

This... President Pei really is deeply devoted to his one true love. Has he forgotten that Wen Mu is just a stand-in?

Wen Mu inwardly bites his handkerchief while ruffling the CEO's hair, living a conflicted, divided life.

Later, the one true love breaks up with his Alpha. Wen Mu swiftly packs his bags and pats Pei Shuchen on the shoulder. "Your chance has come. I hope you two have a happy life together."

Pei Shuchen slowly strokes the gland at the back of the Omega's neck. "Who? What does he have to do with this?"

"I only want to spend my life with you."

One day, Pei Shuchen notices something strange about his body. After an examination, his doctor friend gravely tells him, "You have an exceptionally rare disease called 'Sudden Canine Transformation Syndrome in Alphas.'"

Pei Shuchen: Put it in plain language.

Doctor: It means you occasionally lose your intelligence and start behaving like a dog.

Pei Shuchen: ...

Pei Shuchen is a bona fide child of fortune, a dragon among men. He never imagined he would suffer from such an embarrassing illness.

The disease can be treated with the pheromones of a highly compatible Omega. If he goes too long without their soothing pheromones, his episodes will last longer and longer, until his intelligence is permanently reduced to that of a dog.

However...

The only Omega who is a 99.9% match for him is Wen Mu, whom he threw out just days ago after Wen Mu confessed his feelings.
