I took the soup the old woman offered me. Thinking it looked like too little, I secretly added some water from the river.
After drinking it, I found myself in a poor, backward little place where I couldn't understand the language, reborn as a newborn baby.
But even the newborns couldn't afford formula, and my family didn't even own a pair of slippers.
The hard, gritty rice was mixed with bran and sand. That yellowish lump that looked like it belonged in an outhouse, which people called miso, was the only way to add flavor.
Salt wasn't used, either. Without it, everything was bland; with it, everything was either too salty or gritty.
After eating a bowl of coarse rice, I knew there was something wrong with this world.
I was hungry five times a day. Overcome with sorrow, my eyes reddened... and I remembered my past life.
Holy crap, I'm an Uchiha!
But what good is that? Uchihas get hungry, too!
...According to the manga, two Uchihas are enough to destroy the world. I've got a whole family of Uchihas, and we can't even get enough to eat?
Unacceptable!
I slapped the table. At twelve, I was already standing on my own two feet. I spread out a map, gathered my four younger brothers, and called a round-table meeting.
"There are five great nations, just enough for the five of us to each claim one. For the record, I want the seafood nation." I pointed at the islands on the far right, my eyes practically blazing.
My four brothers: "..."
The two youngest looked at our second brother.
My second brother, whose name contained two kings and who had a wise minister to assist him, making it clear he was born to be above everyone else, said, "Sister, the Land of Water has a humid climate and is separated from the rest by the sea. It shouldn't be our first choice."
My third brother, whose name sounded as clear and cool as water in a jade-white stream, and whose gentle manner reminded me of the lady next door, pointed to the center of the map. "The Land of Fire is still the best choice. It has the Land of Fields, a great grain-producing nation, to the north, the Land of Iron, home to skilled craftsmen, to the east, and the sea to the south, where there's plenty of seafood."
Me: "Well said. I appoint you general of the Land of Fire. Third Brother, go govern it tomorrow."
The two older boys laughed along, but the two youngest nervously curled their sleeves in their hands.
Madara and Izuna thought their sister was once again spouting nonsense and dreaming up wild schemes. After skillfully coaxing her, they discovered that she hadn't tucked herself in to daydream as usual.
Instead...
The usually haughty daimyo of the Land of Fire was on his knees, trembling before the Uchiha. His family and ministers were there with him, all so terrified they didn't dare raise their heads.
"From this moment on, this country will be renamed the Land of Spicy Peppers. You must grow chili peppers. Understand?"
Madara and Izuna: "..." Wait, what had they missed?!
It was only yesterday that their sister said she wanted seafood!
TIPS:
An unabashedly indulgent Uchiha story
Does not use Boruto continuity
At its heart, this is probably a funny food story
The dimensional wall will keep cracking. That's for the God of Time and Space to deal with.
Theme: Hunger is the driving force of evolution! May everyone have a happy ending.
