[Story Synopsis]
Thirteen years ago, counterfeit silver flooded Nanchen. During the Jianyuan era, this led to warfare along the border. The current Crown Prince's uncle, Marquis Anping Xu Congjing, died in battle, and the Crown Prince's birth mother, Consort Jing, died coughing up blood. The emperor flew into a rage. When the counterfeit silver case in Quzhou came to light, the prefect of Quzhou was sentenced to have his entire family executed. On the eve of the case's exposure, the Ye family of Quzhou and the Liao family of Huaiyang were both massacred.
Thirteen years later, Ye Qingluo, a survivor of the Ye family, disguises herself as a man under the alias Su Mingyin and descends the mountain with her old servant Jiang Linyuan and senior brother Ming Qing. She joins forces with Liao Yueyin, the last surviving member of the Huaiyang Liao family, who has already discovered the true culprit and is lying in wait, to strike back at Consort Jia, the mastermind behind the counterfeit silver case. Ye Qingluo uses a scheme to buy back the Liu residence, where her father's three hundred thousand taels of silver are buried. The male lead, Zhang Lanshan, knows the master of the Liu residence. After several rounds of testing each other, he falls for Ye Qingluo in her male disguise...
[Little Skit]
A newbie goes down the mountain with her senior brother for the first time, dressing like a boy for convenience.
On her second solo stroll, the male lead takes liberties with her.
"Oh my gosh, the whole world down here is full of men who like men!"
The newbie sharpens her knife, ready to chop off the male lead's trotters and make soup.
The male lead holds out his hoof. "Go ahead and cut them. Just don't forget the salt. They'll be nicely cured by New Year."
"Get lost!" The newbie doesn't like cured pig's trotters and shoves him away.
"Come on... please..." The male lead chases after her and insists on giving them to her.
The newbie is terrified. "Men who like men down here are so scary! I have to hurry back and change!"
By the window, she combs her cloud-like hair and puts on her flower-patterned dress before the mirror.
She steps outside to meet her companions, and they are all shocked.
They have traveled together for months, yet no one knew the newbie was a girl.
[The heroine can be both sweet and tough, switching freely between a fierce, poisonous femme fatale and a weak, helpless little darling.]
[The hero is a shameless scoundrel.]
Main couple: Ye Laoliu and Zhang San (husband and wife)
Secondary couple: Liao Dashen and Qi Someone (husband and husband)
There's another hidden male-male romance subplot. Find it yourself. I'll keep quiet for now.
