When the navigation app went haywire, it took Bai Suliu somewhere completely different from the cafe she was trying to reach. She had no choice but to ask a randomly chosen passerby: "Hello, I'm a foreigner who's been abandoned by my navigation app. Could you point me in the right direction?"
Passerby A: "...Go north... then east... head south to the first intersection and turn right..."
Just as Bai Suliu was about to give up and look for Passerby B, someone who could speak like a normal person, Passerby A finally got a divine smack on the back of the head. "I'll take you there."
Then Bai Suliu happily spent an afternoon with her paper at her favorite cafe.
K-dramas had taught Bai Suliu that Koreans brought food to their neighbors after moving in, so she took a freshly baked half-and-half focaccia over to knock on her neighbor's door.
Passerby A answered, looking like he had a terrible hangover.
Bai Suliu's planned greeting-and-gift routine was interrupted by the rumbling of Passerby A's stomach... In the middle of the day, with the local custom of making the most of a chance encounter in mind, she invited someone who sounded like he was starving to death: "To thank you for helping me so kindly yesterday, please let me return the favor. Would you join me for lunch?"
Passerby A, who really was about to starve, was just about to refuse when another rumble from his stomach cut him off.
And then he had no desire to refuse anymore.
Bai Suliu x Quan Zhilong
1. I'm putting this idea out there first.
2. You can tell from the heroine's name that I'm terrible at naming characters... It's a variation on Bai Liusu.
3. There's a little trick in the title. Did you notice? The title of my other book is a bit unusual, too. If you figure it out, leave a comment and tell me~ I'll be so happy.
Theme: Ordinary people's love (a PhD and a superstar are just ordinary human beings, too)
