I Played an Extra in Showbiz [Book Transmigration]

Perennial extra Chen Xingyi transmigrates into a book. She lands in an entertainment-industry power fantasy novel as a wealthy heiress, a cannon-fodder supporting female character destined to be crushed by the ancient heroine who has come to the modern world. In her previous life, born an orphan, she struggled her way into a third-rate film academy through sheer hard work, and acting became her dream. To get roles, she took bit parts and worked as a stand-in, accepting any acting job that came her way. To make a good impression on directors and production crews, she did everything from setting up the stage to handling lights and props. She was a brick, ready to be carried wherever she was needed. She worked diligently like that for over a decade, yet never even managed to land the nth female supporting role. Chen Xingyi figured that first, she had been short on money, and second, she was held back by a face that would score below zero even in a crowd of ordinary people. In this life, not only has she become a rich heiress, she also has stunning looks. Add in the acting skills she painstakingly honed in her previous life, and surely she is about to reach the pinnacle of success? Chen Xingyi can practically see the Best Actress crown beckoning to her. Just as she is wondering whether to invest in a production, land the female lead role, and use her looks and solid acting skills to shoot straight to stardom... A voice suddenly rings in her mind: Welcome to the Actor Level-Up System. To improve your self-cultivation as an actor, Host, please begin the Beginner Extra Mission. "Huh?" Chen Xingyi stares blankly. An extra mission? What the heck? Does that mean she has to keep working as an extra? Is this for real? I refuse. System: Then you may be erased from this world. Don't believe me? Go look in the mirror. In the mirror, Chen Xingyi sees her body gradually fading. She gives a start, then immediately caves. Fine, I'll do it! I'll work as an extra, okay? And so Chen Xingyi begins her forced career as an extra. To her surprise, while working bit parts, she makes her debut ahead of schedule. Trembling with fear, Chen Xingyi asks the System: I accidentally got famous. Is my life still safe? The System replies smugly: Are you dead now? Theme: Survive adversity while continuing to strive, and face life with a strong, cheerful heart.
