My Obsessive, Possessive Boss Always Wants to Keep Me

[Cold on the outside, beautiful, powerful, and tragic, but crazy inside] [Warm, healing ray of sunshine] [Mutual salvation, with a twist]

Synopsis 1

Ji Qingzhou accidentally discovers her direct superior's deeply buried, twisted secret in the psychologist's office.

It turns out that President Gu, who seems untouchable, cold, ruthless, and decisive, is actually consumed by longing and has already gone mad with love.

Softhearted Ji Qingzhou promises the doctor that she'll gently care for Gu Yanzhi, becoming a ray of light that can save someone who's fallen.

So when she learns that President Gu has moved into the apartment across the hall:

President Gu is hungry, so Ji Qingzhou buys groceries, cooks, and invites her over to eat.

President Gu's bathroom is broken, so she warmly invites Ji Qingzhou over to take a shower.

President Gu's bed collapses, so she suggests they sleep together in one big bed.

President Gu's home floods, so the two of them naturally end up living together.

Synopsis 2

Ji Qingzhou always thought she was using friendship to heal Gu Yanzhi, who was trapped in the past.

Then President Gu confessed, and she was completely dumbfounded.

The one President Gu had pined for so desperately that her longing became an illness, the one she'd become so obsessed with that she'd gone mad, was actually her?!

It turned out every chance encounter had been calculated, and every moment of vulnerability had been an act.

Terrified, Ji Qingzhou prepared to run away in the middle of the night, only to be cornered at her front door.

"You're such a disobedient girl..." The usually aloof and self-controlled woman had dropped every disguise. Obsessive possessiveness swirled in her eyes as she said in a low, restrained voice, "If gentleness can't keep you here, then I'll have to use shackles."

"Why does it hurt when people part ways with someone?"

Hikaru Utada: "Because life is painful to begin with, and those people became painkillers."
