[During summer vacation, Dongfang Yao is sent back to his hometown. The villagers mistake him for a mountain demon and plan to sacrifice him to the mountain god. Poor guy has only been an adult for a few months, and now he is being forced to marry, as the bride, no less?!
After being rescued, before Dongfang Yao can thank the reasonable mountain god, he discovers that he has made a pact with him:
When he gets more than five meters away, his heart races and butterflies flutter in his stomach. The only way to calm down is to make physical contact with the mountain god!
I've studied math, physics, and chemistry for years. How could I believe in this kind of feudal superstition? Pact, curse, mountain god, none of it means a thing to me. Today, I'm getting as far away as I can and leaving this stupid mountain god behind for good!
Then, the moment he steps outside the mountain god's temple, his legs go weak and he can't stand.
Dongfang Yao turns around helplessly and looks to the mountain god for help with his big puppy eyes.
