Synopsis
Jiang Shu is 25, single, and a freelancer. She's afraid of socializing, marriage, and having children, and is currently in the scientifically defined prime childbearing age of 25 to 29. Every day, her family nags her:
"Since you just stay at home all day even when you're working, it'll be convenient for you to look after the kids after you get married."
"You can't even mop the floor properly. When your husband comes home after a whole day of hard work, how can you expect him to live in such a mess?"
"Life only becomes stable after marriage. A woman only becomes complete after having children."
Jiang Shu is baffled. Excuse me? Am I supposed to quit working? Do I get paid for doing housework? Is there a financial subsidy for raising children? My demands aren't high: just the average hourly rate for a domestic worker or postpartum nanny.
She looks up the effects marriage and childbirth have on women, including but not limited to domestic violence, terrible men, aging, various complications caused by childbirth, and career and financial losses.
She decides: I'm rich and beautiful. I'll sleep with whoever I want, and I won't have kids if I don't want to. Do I really have to get married and provide someone with free sex for life?
One day, she transmigrates into the future. The marriage-matching System assigns her a partner: an eighteen-year-old who has been diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder and had his memories erased, leaving him like a newborn baby.
Marriage notice:
1. You are his guardian and are authorized to control his reproductive rights and personal freedom.
2. You are responsible for providing him with a basic standard of living.
3. Every human's genes are the property of the Empire. Use his genes as soon as possible and pass them on!
Jiang Shu: Meow, meow, meow? Is having children the meaning of life in your country? Is this the gender-swapped version of feudal society? Wait, I'm not a radical feminist! I want to return this!
Her return request is denied. From then on, she becomes his guardian and lives a diligent life as his housemaid-mom.
Question: What's it like to raise a boyfriend with antisocial personality disorder?
Female lead: A-a painless transition to motherhood?
The female lead's roles: Mom - girlfriend - girlfriend - girlfriend
The male lead, pouting in grievance: When can I be promoted to husband?
She glances at him and calmly keeps playing on her phone. "People only need to get married to have children. Since we don't want kids, wouldn't it be better to be lovers for life?"
He grits his teeth and steels himself. "Then... then let's have a baby! I'll do it!"
Reader's guide:
1. The male lead has the "warrior" gene and is a "born criminal" who may develop antisocial personality disorder. His values can occasionally be questionable.
2. You've heard of people raising their wives like daughters. In this story, the female lead raises the male lead like a son. Skip pregnancy and get a boyfriend and son in one go.
3. Raise him first, fall in love later.
4. If the author goes off the deep end one day, there may be a dangerous plot where the male lead gives birth. You've been warned.
