Life is full of unpredictable storms
“Pay no heed to the sound of rain beating through the trees.”
On life's journey, the sounds of the years pass through the forest.
She is a celestial spirit who would give her life for the world; he is a divine emissary who seeks to help all mankind.

He and she softly recited: “Why not sing aloud and stroll at ease,

With a question of acceptance, he became the eternal moon, and she danced into the snows of a thousand autumns.
He guarded the south, she protected the north, and from then on they never met again.

Their transmigrated reunion awaited only the moment “the biting spring breeze blows the wine away.”
Amid the surging mortal world, all they could do was sigh, “a little cold.”
How could it be only “the slanting sunset on the hill greeting us as we return”?
How can they resolve the bond from their past lives and the pain of this one?
They can only hope that “looking back at the desolate place we have passed,
we return,
with neither wind nor rain, nor clear skies.”
