At the academic summit, Chayi presented nearly all the results of his two years of research in hopes of getting accepted into the Order Affairs Bureau's Enforcement Squad. The audience erupted in applause, and even professors from other schools praised his work.

A young man wearing black-rimmed glasses sat at the very end of the first row. He raised a hand lazily. "All theory. It wouldn't hold up to the slightest challenge."

Chayi suppressed his anger and adopted a humble, inquisitive manner. "Which part of my design do you think is impractical, Professor? I'm only a university student, after all. Your feedback will help me improve it."

The young man slouched in his chair, legs splayed, as if his bones had turned to jelly. He replied casually, "Even trash can be put to use. Rubbish can't."

Without another word, Chayi used the formation he'd just presented to blast the young man right on top of the head!

Two rounds later, Chayi was still standing, bent double under the pressure of an indescribable force. His fingers were squeezed until they cracked, and his eyes were bloodshot and narrowed. "You set me up!"

The young man strolled onto the stage and brushed the ashes from his singed trouser leg. His black hair had turned entirely silver. "Impatient, arrogant, conceited. You won't get into the Order Affairs Bureau."

Just as he'd predicted, Chayi was struck from the Enforcement Squad's list of candidates.

Only later did Chayi learn that the scheming four-eyed frog he'd offended was Fang Xingfeng, captain of the Order Affairs Bureau's Enforcement Squad. Chayi couldn't accept it. Even professors from other schools had approved of his research. How could Fang Xingfeng reject him with a single vote?

Chayi brought two hundred members of the student council to block the route Fang Xingfeng took home from work, intending to challenge him to a one-on-one fight. Half an hour later, two hundred people were strewn along the roadside, wailing and crying. Fang Xingfeng had beaten them all at once.

Fang Xingfeng pinned Chayi against a wall with his arms twisted behind his back. Even after struggling with all his might, Chayi couldn't break free. He could only snarl, "You scheming four-eyes, you'd better pray I never get my hands on you!"

Fang Xingfeng lowered his voice and smiled lazily. "Little brother, are you always this good at taking an inch when you're given a mile?"

Chayi broke out in goose bumps, his ears flushing red despite himself. Damn it, he was using seduction, of all things. What a schemer.

In the first semester of his junior year, the Order Affairs Bureau, the most authoritative organization in the world of sorcerers, issued an announcement: Fang Xingfeng, captain of the Thirteenth Enforcement Squad, had been dismissed and put under investigation for misconduct. The news caused a sensation throughout the entire sorcerer world overnight.

Fang Xingfeng stood before Chayi with silver hair and silver eyes, handing over an application for an interview. Chayi pushed it away and lounged lazily in his swivel chair. "Well, if it isn't the scheming four-eyes, Captain Fang. You think that flashy hair and eye color will get you into the student council?"

Fang Xingfeng lowered his gaze, his expression dark.

The student council's department heads grabbed pots and pans and fled the battlefield, lamenting in their group chat that the teaching building wouldn't survive.

But a few days later, the gossip suddenly changed.

"Holy crap, yesterday the boss didn't call him 'scheming four-eyes.' He called him 'scheming Fang' instead."

"That's a real Sherlock Holmes over there. It's just one word. Don't make a big deal out of it."

"Holy crap! The boss and Captain Fang were sneaking around doing who-knows-what in the infirmary, and the boss actually called him 'Fang-er'!"

"The important thing is that Captain Fang answered! He answered!"

"Heavens, the world really is changing!"
