A Postwoman in Yokohama

I had a childhood friend who was rich, handsome, fit, and had a lovely voice. Later, he became my boyfriend, and after that we submitted our marriage application.

I had a beautiful older sister with a great eye for people. She was the director of a theater troupe, with more than twenty handsome actors of different ages and personalities under her.

I also had a gorgeous, rich, fit roommate. She was a Saniwa in charge of a whole bunch of sword boys. Later, she resigned and handed the Saniwa position over to me, making me think for a while that I'd unlocked the chosen one's route.

I thought I'd gotten the heroine's story.

And yet.

The day after my childhood-friend boyfriend and I submitted our marriage application and were waiting for approval, I had an accident.

After I worked diligently, conscientiously, and without complaint at the Honmaru for three years, the sword boys there refused to let me go and killed me.

When I was getting ready to reunite with my sister, the twenty-some actors under her thought I was there to collect a debt and shut me out of the gate.

No matter. What's so hard about living alone? I found a new job, put on my new uniform, slung my little black bag over my shoulder, and started delivering letters.

In this miserable world of supernatural powers and overflowing spiritual energy, I'm just an ordinary postman.

Except.

Why have I run into my childhood-friend boyfriend again?!

"I like someone. If he's willing to take one step in my direction, then I'll walk the remaining ninety-nine steps, nine hundred and ninety-nine steps, and nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine steps."

Reader's guide:

1. One-on-one romance throughout. The male lead is Dazai.

2. Includes case-solving and a stream-of-consciousness style with logic that makes no sense.

3. Characters may be out of character, so read with caution.
