The novel mainly follows the villain's perspective and is, in a sense, a story of the villain's growth. As for the senior sister, she isn't a character from the original book. They switch roles~

It feels like a lot of things have not been explained, why Du Shanning did this and what his purpose was. What happened to the senior sister in the end, and what caused Qiu'er and Gu Su to end up like this... I feel like I need to make a few extra chapters to explain it clearly, so I'll finish it up.
