The Changping Marquis's residence was home to a cousin young lady as beautiful as a celestial being. Her beauty captivated the sons of every great family in the capital, yet none could win her heart. Then disaster struck without warning. The Changping Marquis and his son, emboldened by their past achievements, pressed forward recklessly and suffered a crushing defeat. The emperor flew into a rage and ordered the entire household punished.
Cheng Yujiao, the capital's foremost beauty, was on the verge of becoming a plaything for the powerful.
Prince Rong, Xiao Jing, galloped onto the scene and lashed the hand of the young nobleman who meant to assault Cheng Yujiao. He lifted the tearful beauty onto his horse and carried her back to his manor.
In the stillness of the night, the moon hung like a hook.
Xiao Jing looked at the girl huddled trembling in a corner. In his past life, he had watched helplessly as she died a tragic death. This time, he would protect her beneath his wing and give her a lifetime of devotion.
PS:
1. Sweet romance, both leads are devoted only to each other.
2. An alternate world with a historical mishmash. Don't take the history too seriously.
3. Happy ending.
