After Becoming a Cannon Fodder, I Found a New Job Under the Villain

Chu Mingke wakes up in a daze and discovers she's transmigrated into the body of a cannon-fodder female character with the same name. The original owner is a little slow-witted and mistakes the male lead for a good person. But the desert oasis turns out to be a mirage. The male lead tricks her into giving up her golden core, then turns around and goes to save his first love.

The original owner loses all her cultivation and is falsely accused of betraying her sect. She wanders aimlessly along the border between the immortal and demonic realms, where guards kill her. Then low-level demons tear her corpse apart and devour it.

Newly arrived, Chu Mingke smiles and tears up the script. "Thanks for the offer. The heart-digging drama sounds nice, but I don't want to act in it." She then single-handedly drives off her pursuers and makes a break for the border of the demon realm in the dead of night, carrying her flying sword on her shoulder. Along the way, she rescues a powerful villain in distress.

Chu Mingke tentatively asks, "Could I stay in the demon realm for a while?"

The powerful villain points toward the treacherous demon realm and smiles meaningfully. "Only if you can survive here."

Later: "Why are you hiding my flying sword?"

The powerful villain, usually arrogant and uninhibited in public, is caught in the act. His face turns red, and he turns away before growling, "Without it, you won't be able to leave."

Jing Hongying discovers that a story she'd abandoned years ago has come to life and developed into a tragic romance on its own. The male and female leads, who used to support each other, fall into one misunderstanding after another. In the end, the female lead loses all will to live and sacrifices herself to seal a spatial rift. The male lead, who witnesses everything, loses all his cultivation, goes mad and feeble-minded, and dies in sorrow while guarding the seal.

The original author and the one who abandoned the story is baffled. "What kind of ending is this? I didn't write it like that!"

System: "Um... don't panic yet. You might have it worse than them."

Jing Hongying: "? Tell me more!"

System: "You've transmigrated into a female character with the same name. You were born frail, with a mixed spiritual root unsuited to cultivation. Jealous of the male and female leads' extraordinary talent, you try to frame them, but are badly injured by a spirit beast in an illusion. Despairing, you are manipulated by the spirit of a demonic sword into stabbing the two leads. Then you die shortly before the ending."

Jing Hongying puts down her little notebook. "I've got it all written down. I'll avoid those scenes and do my best to stay alive!"

But the story goes nothing like the plan!

A trial stone, sturdy enough to withstand lightning tribulation, crumbles into dust with the slightest touch.

The male and female leads, who used to ignore her, inexplicably become human-shaped accessories, constantly calling her "Junior Sister." All she did was seal a spatial rift, but they're so annoying.

And the demonic sword spirit, who keeps threatening to destroy the world, never leaves the corner after being unsealed. If she speaks just a little too loudly, it shakes like a leaf. How is that a villain?

Years later, Jing Hongying realizes that children are warned to behave with her name, and villains from every corner avoid her. Only then does she realize that the script in her hands has gone terribly wrong.
