Team Spirit? Doesn't Exist

This year was hailed as the dawn of esports.

A game company called Blue Star burst onto the scene,

releasing several games that took the world by storm and launching a streaming platform, Azure TV. Countless people tried to become streamers.

Before long, games had claimed the highest place in the hearts of all humanity.

Among them was a fair 5v5 battle game called Heroes of Dawn,

which announced the first-ever professional esports league.

The various factions suspected the mastermind behind the scenes and sent people to probe his intentions.

And so, at the first Heroes of Dawn regular-season match:

Yokohama Is My Home: Tank, Little Tiger; Mage, Bandage Freak; Marksman, No Eyebrows; Support, Yasha Bai Xue; Assassin, Hat Rack

versus

Weather Demolition Crew: Tank, Tenth Generation; Mage, Pineapple Monster; Marksman, Loyal Hound; Support, Limit; Assassin, Kojiro

To start, it was time for the teams to talk smack before the match.

The jungler from HBSWK opened with: If we win, all the business around the port will be taken over by our Port Mafia... team.

Before the other team could say anything, the fans below got excited.

Fan: So my team's abbreviated name is the Port Mafia! I get it now! Get the banners ready!

Teammates, except No Eyebrows: Are you acting like the Armed Detective Agency doesn't exist?

Bonus scene

There was something strange about the Heroes of Dawn Professional League that left fans baffled.

After each match, they always had to wait ages at the exit for the players to come out, and every one of them was much more thoroughly disguised than when they went in.

It wasn't until a post-match interview when a famous player let the truth slip that they found out why.

#Everyone knows, when you win an online match, don't leave. There's still a million offline matches to play.#

#My favorite team is constantly at each other's throats. What do I do?#

#Another day of severing ties with my teammates.#

#Every match is a friendship falling apart in real time.#

#Want to know if your friendship is unbreakable? Come play a tense and thrilling round of Heroes of Dawn!#
