Long Po is the Demon Lord’s left-hand protector.
Unlike the powerful right-hand protector, who even doubles as the Demon Lord’s mount, she enjoys her position thanks to having once saved the Demon Lord’s life. She draws a salary, and her job consists of shouting, “Long live Your Lordship!”
Though the Demon Lord is cold and ruthless, and has already celebrated his ten-thousandth birthday, he has never so much as laid a finger on her.
Her reward, however, arrives right on time.
While shouting “Long live Your Lordship!” during the war between immortals and demons, Long Po is accidentally struck on the head by the enemy’s God of War.
A melodramatic tale of tragic love appears in Long Po’s mind.
She is the Demon Lord, in love with the aloof God of War from the Immortal Realm. On the battlefield, she would rather take a sword from him than hurt him.
Long Po is moved. “I’m so devoted.”
And her left-hand protector, despite their marriage being a political arrangement, is deeply in love with her. He watches her pine for the God of War and often weeps himself sick.
Long Po is pained. “You’re a good person, but I already have someone.”
Watching their gloomy Demon Lord, the demons think the left-hand protector’s days are numbered.
But instead of dying, he is brought into the palace.

Alone indoors, he kneels before her and presses his cheek against her palm. “I don’t ask Your Lordship to love me. I only ask that you give me a child.”
Long Po hesitates. “You’re a good person, but...”
Lian Chengyan smiles wickedly, his gorgeous features looking pitiful. “Your Lordship won’t even give me that?”
Long Po struggles with the decision
Though not for very long.
Long Po swallows. “I suppose it’s not out of the question... But you won’t get another chance.”
He winks slyly. “Of course.”
Later.
Long Po frets. “It’s been so many times. How come you still aren’t pregnant?”
He quietly pulls her into his arms, looking as though he might burst into tears. “It’s all because my belly is no good.”
Long Po comforts him. “Having children is all about fate. Don’t be in such a rush. Now that I think about it, maybe I’ll go visit the God of War again in a few days...”
