Cherished Dream of Love

Nine years ago, the young ruler of the Ximeng Dynasty prayed greedily at the Temple of the Holy Mother, hoping she would grant him a beautiful, elegant, clever, generous... (sixty more flattering adjectives omitted) ...witty, spirited, and adorable wife.

“Are you serious? Where am I supposed to find someone that perfect, the very best the world has to offer? No such person exists!” That was the Holy Mother's answer.

But after the ruler begged and pestered her, the Holy Mother was finally “moved” by his “sincerity” (?) and agreed to find him a woman who would haunt his dreams.

But...

When the woman finally appeared, she said, “Your Holy Mother may have brought me here against my will, but she can't make me marry you!”

What's more, this woman, who was the furthest thing from “perfect,” actually ran away with the prince...

The Ximeng Dynasty is my ideal country, a fantastically beautiful and innocent realm. So please don't compare it to any dynasty from human history. Come share this beautiful dream with me.

Xiao Huang has finally given in to convention and started writing a transmigration story. Since the author couldn't resist convention, this story can't escape its fate either. Those seeking something unconventional, beware.

I've been writing this for so long that even I was surprised when I looked back. I was so tired that I nearly lost myself completely in the forest of words. More dangerously, I'd listened to too much praise from others and almost became conceited enough to think I was entitled to do anything I wanted. I need to take a break at the edge of this restlessness, regain my composure, and put my writing in order.

With the new school term about to begin, an unfamiliar life awaits me, and it'll be hard to keep up my update schedule in a new environment. What I can look forward to is the hope that these new experiences will give me fresh insights and help me write new, vivid chapters.

I've locked all my ongoing stories because I don't want the person I am now to distort these earliest dreams. When I'm capable of giving every beginning a fitting ending, I'll put a full stop to them.
