Someone tossed a young man into the tomb of Shang Qu, a ten-thousand-year-old corpse. The youth had red lips, pearly teeth, and an extraordinary bearing. He was an exceptionally rare Yin Bone. Shang Qu's eyes lit up, and he tried to possess the youth's body, coaxing him into staying in the tomb.
As rumors that he had become a mere human's lovesick dog grew more and more outlandish, Shang Qu dragged his feet, unable to bring himself to act. Then the cold-faced, cruel-hearted youth hit him on the head with a rock, knocking him unconscious.
When Shang Qu woke up with amnesia, his neighbors told him two things:
1. You are Jiang Shan's lovesick dog. You love him deeply and fawn over him devotedly. No one can compare.
2. Jiang Shan cruelly abandoned you, so you angrily tried to kill yourself. You failed.

Jiang Shan was next in line to become head of his family, but he was the least capable celestial master among them. Framed by others, he was left for dead in a chaotic burial ground that everyone feared.
When he woke, he saw a tall, handsome great demon fussing over him. The demon looked at him like a starving dog eyeing a bone.
There, he met a group of demons who were cold on the outside but warm at heart.
And the great demon Shang Qu coddled him, spoiled him, and loved him. Under Shang Qu's attentive care, Jiang Shan's talent slowly awakened. Then he discovered that everything before him had been a pretense, all so Shang Qu could get his body.
Heartbroken, Jiang Shan returned to the Jiang family.
Turning his grief into motivation, he put the family in order, crushed all the rebels, and became the undisputed head of the Jiang family.
But when he turned and went back to his room, he found a great demon inside, consumed by resentment and transformed into a fiend because of love.
The demon was brimming with rancor, his eyes cold as ice. “So you're Jiang Shan, the one who seduced me and then abandoned me?”
