(I'll fill this in later.)
Knows when he's wrong and makes amends, rather quick-tempered, general gong (Ling Xiao)
Unflappable and mild-mannered, censor shou (Lin Qing)
[Blurb/Story Background]
He is a military general; the other is a civil official.
The Northern Barbarians loom like tigers at the border.
One advocates war, the other peace.
The two often disagree in court, clashing head-on.
Thinking the other is trying to stop him from making a name for himself, he secretly resorts to ruthless measures.
At last, he gets his wish and leads troops to the battlefield.
A year later, he decisively defeats the Northern Barbarians.
But then he is falsely accused of colluding with the enemy and thrown into the death cell.
The other risks his life to plead for him, only to receive the same death sentence in return.
He had entered the civil service because of his frail health, but in the end, he cannot endure the torture and dies in prison.
Only then does he understand the other's feelings.
But it is too late to undo what has happened.
On the day of his execution, facing the cup of poison, he says, "Lin Qing, if there is a next life, I will never let you down!"
(The blurb lays out what happened before and after. It feels a little convoluted, but I can't think of a better way to write it for now... The writing style isn't like this; the story itself has a lighthearted tone.)
A sweet, angst-free romance with a happy ending!
The gong is reborn, and the POV sometimes switches between gong and shou.
[Little Note]
Writing this for love, with a soft spot for historical martial arts stories.
My stories probably won't get promoted, so if you happen to find them, it's fate! I look forward to chatting and interacting with you all~
