Trying Hard to Kill Enemies, but My Tea Art Is Maxed Out

Hey, cuties! This story will end on Monday, November 23, and go behind a paywall. The paywalled chapters are 27-129, so if you've already read them, you won't need to buy them again. Thank you for supporting the story all this time, and please keep supporting it in the future.

By then, Zhuo Yue had become a renowned God of War on the northern frontier. Just hearing his name was enough to make enemy troops tremble in fear.

The soldiers had heard rumors around the barracks, and finally worked up the courage to ask Zhuo Yue, "General Zhuo, is it true... about you and Deputy General Li?"

Chewing on a tobacco leaf, Zhuo Yue replied lazily, "It is."

The soldiers were aghast. "B-but you're a mighty general renowned throughout the land. You could have any beautiful woman you wanted, so why be with a man..."

"What good are beautiful women?" Zhuo Yue shot back. "Can they block a blade for me, kill enemies, wash clothes, cook, come up with strategies, and keep petty villains away?"

The soldiers were dumbstruck. "B-but women are beautiful and gentle..."

"Deputy General Li is more handsome than anyone in the world," Zhuo Yue said. "When he's being affectionate, he'd love to keep you tucked in his mouth."

The soldiers thought of Deputy General Li, known as the Jade-Faced Fiend, then imagined what it would be like to be tucked in his mouth. They fled in terror, not daring to ask another question.

No one knew that the now-glorious God of War on the northern frontier had once been a disgraced son of a military family. After fighting bravely for over a decade, he had ended up abandoned by everyone and dying on the battlefield.

Reborn, Zhuo Yue recalled all the hardships he'd suffered and roared at the heavens: "God! Give me a better life this time!"

The heavens replied: Request received. (Special bonus: one green-tea-flavored lucky koi.)

From then on, with his lucky koi protecting him, Zhuo Yue seemed blessed by divine light. He repelled enemies outside and crushed schemers within, enjoying smooth sailing and commanding respect wherever he went. As he walked a new path through life, he advanced like a raging tide, unstoppable and capable of anything!

After taking his revenge and making a name for himself, General Zhuo was held in the arms of his beautiful, gentle little lucky koi, who kissed him tenderly. He couldn't help thinking to himself:

This golden finger was worth it...
