Cheng Shan grew up in the mountains and was “sold” by his master to another family as their future son-in-law. Twenty years later, he honors the engagement and heads down the mountain to find his betrothed.
Before they meet:
Cheng Shan: “He definitely won't like a country bumpkin like me. Good, because I don't like this kind of ‘blind marriage’ either. Let's call off the engagement.”
After they meet: “As your fiancé in name, I'm responsible for you. What's your responsibility is my responsibility.”
Yin Xu: Fine. My “fiancé” may be a little silly, but at least he's genuinely protective of me.
A down-on-his-luck young master who went bankrupt x a Taoist priest born with good fortune
Another version of the blurb:
One day, Fengshan Daoist Venerable of the Upper Realm suddenly felt a whim and glanced into the lotus pond. Just like that, he was struck by a tribulation of love.
You were born while I was already old.
“Big brother, when I grow up, I'm going to marry you!” the chubby little toddler declared in a babyish voice, full of “grand ambitions.”
The jade-like young gentleman laughed. “But my family has already arranged a marriage for me!”
“You're mine! You're mine!” The little toddler stamped his feet in a panic.
The young gentleman crouched down to comfort him and explained seriously, “We're both men, so we can't get married!”
“That's nonsense! Even the ancient King Xiang of Zhuang married a man!”
“You have to wait for me!”
Fourteen years later, the child who had clamored to marry the young gentleman had grown up, and year after year he continued trying to win the young gentleman's heart.
“Why insist so stubbornly?”
“You are the obsession of my life!”
Two years later.
“My lord, the Sixth Prince has fallen in battle!”
That same year, the Second Young Master of the Chancellor's residence passed away!
You were born, and so was I.
“Big brother, have we met somewhere before?”
A little child with a rosy, round face blushed as he looked at the boy before him.
“I don't know you!” the boy replied coldly, though his little ears turned red.
“Big brother is so handsome. When I grow up, I'm going to marry you!”
The rosy-cheeked child wasn't discouraged by the cold response and instead made a bold declaration.
“You're a boy. You can't marry me!”
The older boy corrected him.
“If I say I can marry you, then I definitely can!” the little one insisted, throwing a tantrum.
“You have to wait until I grow up!” the little one said, hooking pinkies with the boy.
“Skrrt~”
“Xunyu~~” A piercing cry of grief echoed between heaven and earth!
Born in the same year and month.
“Cheng Shan, you must take good care of your other half in the future!”
“Master, I promise I'll protect him!” Little Cheng Shan nodded.
