"Not a fraction more, not a fraction less. Whatever you sacrifice, you will naturally receive an equal reward."
So, is equivalent exchange really fair?
"No. Who gave you that impression? Compared to what you gain, all you'll feel is that you've lost more. Equivalent exchange is fair to the world. But for you and me? ...Not necessarily."
Welcome to the Unfair Equivalent Exchange. What do you need? Time that's passed? Vitality? Or the heart of someone you love?
Whatever you want, we can bring it to you. Just make sure you can bear the price you must pay.
The woman in the shop raised her head. Her pale golden hair was pinned up high. Her smile was distant and stiff, and her eyes held an innate trace of mockery.
"Welcome to the Equivalent Exchange Wish Shop. What can I do for you?"
The story is currently planned as a series of episodes in the early part, with all the characters and plots woven together later.
The characters I have definitely decided to write about so far, though not necessarily in this order, are: MCU Captain America (pairing: Stucky), 2014!Castiel (pairing: Destiel), Eliot from the TV series The Magicians (pairing: Queliot), and Joker (no specific canon, he's an amalgamation of my impressions from movies, TV, and comics).
(Characters I may include: 616 White Tank, Arkham Jason Todd, the witches from American Horror Story, and Magnus. Feel free to suggest more. As long as I've seen the work and think I can handle the character's personality, I'll write them.)
(The first chapter of each world will have a content warning, so please read it before continuing to avoid any potential triggers.)
Please keep discussions as gentle as possible. If anything in my story makes you uncomfortable, you know, the X in the upper-right corner is there for a reason.
Anne was named after the Unknown Woman of the Seine. She became famous for the enigmatic smile on her face when her body was pulled from the river. Her face was also widely used as the model for Resusci Anne, the CPR training manikin.
[An aside: she's the only person I've ever kissed Orz]
[I'm an overseas student, so updates will be irregular. But comments are the best way to encourage me to update, so feel free to ask for more.]
This story takes place before and after my other work, Return to Heaven, which I'm currently writing. The story of how Anne and Jehudiel met, and their interactions, will appear in the extras here.
The events in Return to Heaven have little impact on this story, so you don't need to know its plot to read this one.
Theme: Equivalent exchange. If you pay the price, will you really get the outcome you want?
