I wrote two KaiShin stories before, then realized there were a few loose ends about Vermouth I hadn't tied up. I considered adding them to the original stories, but the writing style felt off, so I decided to write a separate story focused on Vermouth~

Just so you know, this story shares some background details with the previous two. I mainly want to give Vermouth a better ending in the Detective Conan finale, because I feel like it would be pretty hard for Aoyama to redeem a character who's already half good and half bad...

Vermouth only meant to help Cool Guy and Angel get through Gin's investigation safely. Then she discovered that her junior fellow student was involved too, and with no other choice, she sacrificed herself to save him, taking a stand against the Organization.

Vermouth (taking it easy): We're all going to die sooner or later, so we might as well enjoy life.

Bourbon (exasperated): You should think about what you'll do afterward.

After the Organization falls

Vermouth, after losing her memory (looking bewildered): Who am I? Where am I? Where am I supposed to go?

Rei Furuya (without batting an eye): You're with Public Security.

Vermouth, after getting her memory back (gritting her teeth): Bourbon, I really can't thank you enough.

Bourbon (smiling faintly): You're welcome. Finding talent for the country is my duty.
